I had a chance to take pictures of Archbishop Oscar Cruz in his office at the CBCP in Intramuros, Manila. I chose to have him as a subject in my assignment for I wanted to see the life of a priest as a regular person.
While doing this assignment, I learned that he maintained a blog to express his thoughts on various matters besides religion.
Bishop Cruz starts his day by waking up at 4 in the morning, uttering a brief prayer, and then saying mass.
After the mass, he does some reading in his office before taking breakfast at 8 am. After that, he goes back to the office to review some cases of priests who may need to be defrocked.
Besides painting and planting vegetables, he also writes books.
Being with him at the CBCP offered me a glimpse of his daily routine not only as a Archbishop but as a regular person; a person, just like you and me.
